Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>Todos los acueductos de la Corporaci\u00f3n del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) operan este mi\u00e9rcoles con normalidad tras el paso del hurac\u00e1n Beryl por aguas del mar Caribe<\/strong>, mientras la producci\u00f3n de agua potable se mantiene en 446 millones de galones diarios.<\/p>\n

En un comunicado, la direcci\u00f3n de operaciones de la CAASD explic\u00f3 que las condiciones de las presas son \u00f3ptimas, similares a la que estaban antes del fen\u00f3meno y solo Duey estuvo fuera de servicio por espacio de ocho horas por la turbidez de sus aguas, pero ya est\u00e1 en funcionamiento.<\/p>\n

Los sistemas de Isa Mana, Valdesia, Barrera de Salinidad, los campos de pozos Santo Domingo Este, La Joya y Los Marenos operan en condiciones normales.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, la Corporaci\u00f3n informa que se corrigieron varias aver\u00edas, aunque ninguna fue de importancia suficiente como para afectar a la distribuci\u00f3n de agua potable a los usuarios del Gran Santo Domingo durante el paso del cicl\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La entidad mantiene activado su comit\u00e9 de emergencia y brigadistas que contin\u00faan realizando labores preventivas y supervisiones en las diferentes tomas de agua, mientras que la Unidad Ejecutora de Proyectos retoma el ritmo de los trabajos de saneamiento de ca\u00f1adas, entre otras obras de vital importancia para las comunidades del Gran Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n

Desde el lunes pasado, un amplio operativo de m\u00faltiples brigadas de la CAASD realizaron limpieza y desatasco de las ca\u00f1adas intervenidas en sectores de Los R\u00edos, Guajim\u00eda, Los Girasoles, Arroyo Manzano, Villa Emilia, Mara\u00f1\u00f3n y Peralejos para evitar su desbordamiento, y tambi\u00e9n se limpiaron los registros de los parques Cristo Park y Sabana Park.<\/p>\n

La Rep\u00fablica Dominicana sali\u00f3 casi indemne del paso del hurac\u00e1n Beryl, cuyo principal efecto fue el fuerte oleaje que azot\u00f3 el litoral caribe\u00f1o.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aunque el fen\u00f3meno ya se alej\u00f3 del territorio nacional, el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) mantiene 17 provincias en alerta verde por las posibles crecidas de r\u00edos, arroyos y ca\u00f1adas, as\u00ed como inundaciones repentinas, y siguen vigentes las restricciones a la navegaci\u00f3n en la costa caribe\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

El primer hurac\u00e1n de la temporada atl\u00e1ntica se mantiene como un temible sistema con vientos m\u00e1ximos sostenidos de 225 kil\u00f3metros por hora (140 millas por hora), seg\u00fan el m\u00e1s reciente bolet\u00edn del NHC, con sede en Miami (Florida), que lo sit\u00faa a 70 kil\u00f3metros (45 millas) al sur de Kingston (Jamaica) y a 225 kil\u00f3metros (140 millas) al este sureste de Gran Caim\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
